Liev Schreiber got into a tense exchange with a reporter on the red carpet, clearly unhappy with the questions being asked of him to promote his new show, Nocturne.
In footage obtained by TMZ, the actor, 59, vented his frustrations with a woman who appeared to be part of the in-house Apple TV crew capturing content from the Tuesday, October 20, premiere in NYC. Oftentimes footage from the studio is used for social media, or given out as part of a press kit to outlets which were unable to attend an event in person.
“Talk to people like you value what they do,” the Ray Donovan star told the woman. “It’s not a [expletive] sound bite, especially when we’re doing this in house for our own people.”
“We’re trying to make the show compelling, so engage with the person like they’re an artist or they’re an actor,” he continued.

While it’s unclear what question the woman posed, it seems the Perfect Couple alum was asked to describe the show in three words.
“Three words! Three words …. three words isn’t gonna do anything for anybody, and the monkey that [expletive] thought of that is shooting themselves in the foot,” Schreiber continued, as the woman looked at the camera behind her and told the photographer, “I hope you’re rolling on this.”
It doesn’t look like she wanted to capture the footage for it to be shared, but so her team could refer to it later. Either way, the actor lightened up a bit before adding, “If you wanna give them something that they can use, talk to people like they’re humans, not like it’s social media.”
Though the rest of the audio is unclear, it appears as though they both agreed on a “real question” she could ask.
Schreiber stars in the series as an ex-soldier turned homicide detective who moves to small town Pennsylvania only to have his quiet town — and family — attacked by a serial killer. The show also stars Zazie Beetz and Stephen Graham.
Nocturne, based on the Joona Linn books from husband-wife duo Alexander Ahndoril and Alexandra Coelho Ahndoril, debuts October 30 on Apple TV.
