The kombucha mushroom people might not want to sit around all day next summer.
System of a Down just announced they’ve extended their June 2027 stint at Pasadena, CA’s Rose Bowl Stadium with Pierce The Veil and Gojira to four concerts.
They’re scheduled to take place:
Saturday, June 5, 2027
6:30 p.m.
with Pierce The Veil
Sunday, June 6, 2027
6:30 p.m.
with Pierce The Veil
Thursday, June 10, 2027
6:30 p.m.
with Gojira
Saturday, June 12, 2027
6:30 p.m.
with Gojira
If you’d like to be there to see Serj Tankian wail live, tickets for all four System of a Down Pasadena concerts are officially on sale as of today.
At the time of publication, the lowest price we could find on seats for any one show was $107 including fees on Vivid Seats (that’s for the Saturday, June 12 gig).
Prices start anywhere from $136 to $257 including fees for the other three nights in Pasadena.
Although we don’t know what they’ll take to the stage next summer records at Set List FM indicate that the ’90s alt-metal outfit often perform 30 songs per show at past shows.
Fan favorites “Toxicity,” “Chop Suey,!” “Lonely Day,” “Aerials” and, yes, “Sugar” (which features the immortal “kombucha mushroom people” line) often make the cut.
Record Collector Mag raved about the experience, writing “System Of A Down did not stop. No proper break. No encore routine. Barely enough time for anyone to catch their breath.”
“That is the strange magic of System Of A Down. Their music should feel impossible. The sudden tempo changes. Metal riffs crashing into punk bursts. Armenian melodies appearing between cartoon voices, screams and moments of genuine beauty. Songs constantly changing direction before your brain has processed the last one.”
“On paper, it sounds like four people arguing over what band they want to be.”
“Live, it becomes its own perfect language.”
So, get up, kombucha mushroom people. You won’t regret your decision.
We’ll see you at the show.

Serj Tankian new music
In October 2025, Serj Tankian released his fifth studio album “Covers, Collaborations & Collages.”
Over the course of ten songs, the legendary singer embraces a handful of genres and sounds to create a wholly Serj-ian experience.
We start with the somber “Electric Dreams.” No flourishes here, just a haunting acoustic guitar lick and Serj gently singing about “electric dreams (carrying him) through the night.”
After that, things take a turn for the weird. “A Seed” sounds like a “system literally went down” with discordant glitches under Tankian’s haunting vocals. Next, he earnestly delivers a vulnerable piano ballad in “I’m Counting On You.” This is not the album we were expecting at all…and we’re here for it.
Later high points in the sonically-expansive record include the mellow yet jaunty and somewhat foreboding “I’m In Heaven,” mellow, jazzy “I Found You,” return to form melodic thrash banger “Kneeling Away From The Sun,” anxious rock opera “Apocalyptic Dance” and folksy album closer “When Death Arrives” that turns into a fist-pumping battle cry halfway through before becoming a somber affair all over again.
What a trip.
To hear for yourself, you can find “Covers, Collaborations & Collages” here.
Editor’s Note: Since the release of the album, Serj has released a pair of singles. Click here to check them out.
Also, of note, Daron Malakian and Seven Hours After Violet are releasing new music as well.
