Online travel platform Trip.com on Oct. 8 released booking data indicating a sharp rise in travel and accommodation demand in the two Vietnam’s largest cities during major concert dates.
The platform also recorded a similar trend across several other destinations in Southeast Asia.
In Hanoi, BIGBANG will perform on Oct. 24 and 25 at the My Dinh national stadium as part of their 20th-anniversary world tour.
According to Trip.com, service demand began to climb after the tour dates were announced on June 11.
Tickets went on sale starting Aug. 13, and by Aug. 14, during the early booking window, flight and hotel reservations for the concert surged to six times the daily average.
Flight bookings to Hanoi for Oct. 23-26 increased by 74% from the same period in 2025.
Overall, October bookings for Hanoi on the platform grew by 45%.
The top sources of travelers are Ho Chi Minh city, Seoul, Taipei, Nagoya, Da Nang, and Busan.
Fans tend to plan well in advance. Flights are booked an average of 70 days in advance, and hotels are booked 76 days ahead.
Hotels located within a three-kilometer radius of My Dinh stadium were fully booked as early as July 29.
Reservations for Oct. 23 and 24 soared to 15 times the normal rate during the month.
Minh Anh of Ho Chi Minh City booked her flights and accommodation for the trip to Hanoi back in July, a full month before tickets went on sale.
She estimates her Oct. 23-26 trip will cost around VND17 million (US$650).
“If I can manage my work schedule, I might change my return ticket to travel around Cao Bang for a few days after the concert,” she says.
