Alpine announced that they had changed the energy storage module on Franco Colapinto’s A526, following the Sprint of the Singapore Grand Prix.
The Argentinian was forced to retire suddenly while the sprint race was under Safety Car conditions. Alpine confirmed that the problem stemmed from a faulty energy storage module, and will therefore replace the part before the qualifying session.
By reverting to a specification that was already part of the pool of parts allowed for Colapinto during the season, Alpine will not incur a penalty for car No. 43 during the qualifying session, which will start at 15:30 p.m. Paris time, following the delay taken by the Sprint due to the rain that fell on the city-state.
