India’s first Vande Metro train launched between Ahmedabad and Bhuj

To provide convenience to passengers and to meet their demand India’s first Vande Metro train is being launched between Ahmedabad and Bhuj stations. Vande Metro train offers many modern travel experiences. Vande Metro is a major milestone in passenger convenience and will boost the economic development of Kutch , create new employment opportunities and promote local tourism . The aim of Vande Metro is to provide a new dimension to inter-city transportation in the country.

According to a press release issued by Vineet Abhishek, Chief Public Relations Officer, Western Railway, this train developed with indigenous technology has 12 air-conditioned coaches , with centrally controlled automatic sliding doors , modular interiors , continuous LED lighting , toilets with vacuum evacuation facility , route map indicators , panoramic windows , CCTV , phone charging facilities , automatic smoke/fire detection with alarm system and aerosol based fire extinguishing system. It has been provided with advanced and improved features which enable it to reach a speed of 110 kmph. The details of regular operation of this train are as follows:

Train No. 94801/94802 Ahmedabad – Bhuj Vande Metro (Unreserved)

Train No 94801 Ahmedabad – Bhuj Vande Metro will depart from Ahmedabad at 17:30 hrs daily except Saturdays and reach Bhuj at 23:10 hrs same day. This train will run from 17th September , 2024. Similarly , Train No 94802 Bhuj – Ahmedabad Vande Metro will depart from Bhuj at 05.05 hrs daily except Sundays and reach Ahmedabad at 10:50 hrs same day. This train will run from 18th September , 2024.

In both directions, the train will stop at Sabarmati , Chandlodia , Viramgam , Dhrangadhra , Halvad , Samakhyali , Bhachau , Gandhidham and Anjar stations.
