World Bank: World Bank, Aiib Officials Discuss Canal-based Water Supply Project | Ludhiana News

Ludhiana: While the authorities are moving forward with the canal-based water supply project, a delegation of the World Bank (WB) and Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) officials on Wednesday conducted a meeting with municipal commissioner Aaditya Dachalwal at MC’s Zone D office in Sarabha Nagar. The meeting was chaired by Dachalwal while the delegation of WB and AIIB was led by senior water specialist Srinivas Podipireddy, senior urban specialist Rumana Huque and Rosanna Nitti.
The MC has already signed a contract with the contractor firm for taking up the canal-based water supply project. During the meeting, discussions were held regarding the structure and functioning of the company, Ludhiana Urban Water and Wastewater Management Limited. The company has been formed for improving water supply infrastructure and implementation of the canal-based water supply project.
MC joint commissioner Inderpal, chief engineer Ravinder Garg, superintending engineer (projects) Parul Goyal, SE Sanjay Kanwar, and DDF Naman Bhatia among others were also present in the meeting.
Discussions were also held regarding deploying experts and other manpower for moving forward with the project. Dachalwal said the civic body had already signed a contract with the firm for taking up the project and survey was going on for establishing a world-class water treatment plant in Bilga village in Sahnewal. During the meeting, discussions were held regarding the structure of the company and its functioning.
