Lucknow: Twelve students of the Uttar Pradesh State Institute of Forensic Science (UPSIFS) have been selected to form ‘Team 12’ to work on international projects focused on emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, robotics, quantum technology and cybersecurity.The team was chosen after a selection exercise in which 150 UPSIFS students delivered presentations on technology-driven solutions. The presentations were evaluated by Pawan Sharma, CEO of US-based Braviti, and Parag Shende, CEO of KIPL. Officials said the initiative is designed to help students apply classroom learning to real-world challenges and explore pathways in global research and innovation.UPSIFS founding director GK Goswamy said the programme aligns with chief minister Yogi Adityanath’s push for technology-enabled forensic education, encouraging innovation and closer links between academic learning and practical application.UPSIFS integrates technology, law and forensic science, with focus areas including digital evidence analysis, cybersecurity and scientific crime investigation. The institute said the new initiative may also open avenues for research, entrepreneurship and start-up development.The proposed international engagement is expected to expose students to technology challenges and collaborative projects linked to countries including the United States, the United Kingdom and Germany.Team 12 members are Ishani Pandey, Ishani Ojha, Siddhi Vats, Sakshi Gehlot, Pushkar Singh, Ravi Yadav, Vivek Mishra, Prakhar Singh, Divyam Srivastava, Animesh Shukla, Anubhav Chaturvedi and Ravishankar Kushwaha. The project is being led by Nimisha Singh, head of the UPSIFS Training and Placement Cell.
