Tom Felton will remain on Broadway a little longer than expected, extending his run as Draco Malfoy in “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” through Jan. 3, 2027, at the Lyric Theatre.

Felton, who is making his Broadway debut, originated the role of Draco in all eight “Harry Potter” films. His appearance in “Cursed Child” marks the first time that a member of the original film cast has joined a stage production of the play.

His arrival has given a significant boost to a production that has been running on Broadway for more than eight years. “Cursed Child,” which opened at the Lyric Theatre in April 2018 and is now the third-longest-running play in Broadway history, has enjoyed a major resurgence at the box office since Felton joined the cast.

Felton originally joined the production in November 2025 for a limited engagement. His run was subsequently extended, and the newly announced engagement through early January is being billed as his final extension.

Set 19 years after the conclusion of the original “Harry Potter” series, “Cursed Child” finds Harry, Hermione, Ron and Draco as adults whose children are now attending Hogwarts. Much of the action centers on the unlikely friendship between Harry’s son Albus and Draco’s son Scorpius.

Ariana Madix and Whitney Leavitt to join ‘Just in Time’

Two reality television personalities who followed remarkably similar paths from “Dancing With the Stars” to playing Roxie Hart in Broadway’s “Chicago” will now follow one another into “Just in Time.”

Ariana Madix, the former “Vanderpump Rules” star who now hosts “Love Island USA,” will join the Bobby Darin musical as Connie Francis beginning Sept. 12 and remain through Nov. 22. Madix competed on “Dancing With the Stars” in 2023 before making her Broadway debut as Roxie in “Chicago” the following year.

Whitney Leavitt, a breakout star of Hulu’s “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,” will subsequently join “Just in Time” as actress Sandra Dee for six weeks, from Dec. 1 through Jan. 10. Leavitt competed on “Dancing With the Stars” before making her own Broadway debut as Roxie in “Chicago” earlier this year, in an engagement that was extended twice.

Both will appear opposite Jeremy Jordan as Darin in the hit musical at Circle in the Square Theatre. The production reconfigures the theater as a nightclub while recounting Darin’s life and career through songs including “Beyond the Sea,” “Splish Splash,” “Dream Lover” and “Mack the Knife.”

’10 Things I Hate About You’ musical set for Broadway next summer

“10 Things I Hate About You,” the popular 1999 teen comedy starring Julia Stiles, Heath Ledger and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, will arrive on Broadway as a musical next year, with performances beginning Aug. 17, 2027.

Based on the film by Karen McCullah and Kirsten “Kiwi” Smith, the musical has a book by “Girls” creator Lena Dunham and Jessica Huang, music and lyrics by pop singer-songwriter Carly Rae Jepsen and Ethan Gruska, and direction and choreography by Christopher Wheeldon (“MJ,” “An American in Paris”).

Like the film, which updated Shakespeare’s “The Taming of the Shrew” for a 1990s American high school, the musical revolves around sisters Kat and Bianca and the complicated romantic schemes that develop around them. The movie became a cult favorite and is also remembered for Ledger’s performance of “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You.”

Jepsen, best known for the pop hit “Call Me Maybe,” previously appeared on Broadway in Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “Cinderella” in 2014. Dunham is best known as the creator and star of HBO’s “Girls.”

New Duncan Sheik musical to premiere Off-Broadway

A new musical by “Spring Awakening” composer Duncan Sheik based on a Japanese manga will premiere this fall at The Night Egg, a new performance space within the Culture Club, the Chelsea complex formerly known as the McKittrick Hotel and longtime home of the immersive hit “Sleep No More.”

“Memoirs of Amorous Gentlemen,” which has music and lyrics by Sheik, a book by Leah Nanako Winkler (“God Said This”) and direction and choreography by Rob Ashford, will begin performances Sept. 25.

Based on Moyoco Anno’s award-winning manga of the same name, the musical centers on Colette, a young woman living in 20th-century Paris who works at the Night Egg and turns her observations of the people around her into writing, even as she remains caught in an unhealthy relationship with her childhood love, Léon.

Sophia Anne Caruso, who originated the role of Lydia Deetz in Broadway’s “Beetlejuice” and appeared in David Bowie’s “Lazarus,” will star as Colette.

Sheik will have an unusually prominent Off-Broadway presence this fall. “Spring Awakening,” his Tony Award-winning rock musical with book and lyrics by Steven Sater, is also receiving a new Off-Broadway revival at Studio Seaview, directed by “The Outsiders” Tony winner Danya Taymor.
