Carey Mulligan joined the recent red carpet trend of celebrities eschewing fall fashion in favor of spring runway style with her Celine look at Sunday’s “Wildwood” premiere held at BFI Southbank during the London Film Festival.

The three-time Oscar-nominated actress turned to Celine’s spring 2027 ready-to-wear collection, wearing look 65 from creative director Michael Rider’s lineup. Silver metallics gave the ensemble an icy effect.
Mulligan’s look consisted of a silver metallic pleated tunic with a bateau neckline, long sleeves and an asymmetrical hemline, paired with a matching column skirt featuring the same pleated motif and a liquid-like puddle effect that pooled at the hem and extended into a small train.
Though they couldn’t be seen, high pump white calfskin heels heightened Mulligan’s look, and the actress also brought along a pair of triomphe mini sunglasses in acetate. As for accessories, the actress wore a pair of oval diamond and white gold gypset hoop earrings courtesy of Jessica McCormack. Stylist Danielle Goldberg curated Mulligan’s red carpet look.
The actress is just the most recent celebrity who has turned to recent spring 2027 runways for her red carpet and promotional tour looks. Rosalía was spotted in New York City wearing Erdem’s showgirl-inspired spring 2027 design, while it took Emma Stone less than 24 hours to bring a customized iteration of Louis Vuitton’s spring 2027 slipdress to New York Film Festival.

Jessica Chastain also avoided quintessential fall tones in favor of a vibrant pop of green in a Monse spring 2027 ready-to-wear look for Thursday night’s premiere of “Other Mommy” in Los Angeles. Mulligan is quite in good company, indeed.
The “Wildwood” actress’ Celine ensemble made its runway debut during Paris Fashion Week less than two weeks ago on Oct. 3. The collection saw Rider use “a host of satin-finish fabrics, many of them crisp, and lots of black and midnight blue,” Miles Socha wrote in WWD’s review of the collection.

“This gave the collection an appealing, soigné vibe, though here again, his ensembles always hover somewhere between dressy and casual thanks to some unexpected element, like a purposely scuffed sneaker, an offbeat headband, some harem pants in a bandana print, say, or a graphic concert T-shirt under a white satin pantsuit, wrong-footing the Bianca Jagger associations you had at first glance.”
The animated film “Wildwood” follows Prue McKeel, who sets off into the forests outside Portland to find her kidnapped brother. The film is among several slated screenings and premieres at the 2026 edition of the BFI London Film Festival, which also features films like “Artificial,” “Paper Tiger” and “La Bola Negra” among its selections.
