Doug DeMuro is parting ways with one of the most recognizable cars in his collection. The automotive YouTuber and Cars & Bids founder has listed his 2005 Ford GT for auction, giving enthusiasts an opportunity to own a supercar with a well-documented history.

Unlike many Ford GTs that spend most of their lives sitting in garages, DeMuro’s example has been driven regularly. Its odometer currently shows approximately 45,800 miles, including around 14,400 miles accumulated during his ownership.

The car is being offered through DeMuro’s own Cars & Bids platform, with no reserve price. That means the highest bidder will take it home regardless of the final amount.

Bidding had reached $506,000 at the time of writing, with the auction scheduled to end today, on October 17, 2026. DeMuro plans to replace the car with a Ford GT Heritage Edition.

Finished in Midnight Blue Metallic with an Ebony interior, this GT is equipped with optional BBS forged wheels, painted brake calipers, and racing stripes. According to the listing, it has had just two owners since leaving the factory.

DeMuro purchased the car in September 2018, having deliberately sought an example he could enjoy without worrying excessively about adding mileage. The result is a supercar that has accumulated plenty of road time rather than being preserved exclusively for display.

Supercharged V8 Power And A Six-Speed Manual

The 2005 Ford GT features a mid-mounted 5.4-liter supercharged V8 producing 550 horsepower and 500 lb-ft of torque in factory spec, which is routed to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission.

DeMuro’s car has received several modifications, including a smaller supercharger pulley, an ECU tune, a Ford Racing exhaust, and a short shifter. These changes may increase engine output, although no dynamometer results have been provided. The car also features an Alpine stereo and a signature from original Ford GT designer Camilo Pardo in the engine bay.

An Unusually Detailed Ownership History

One of this GT’s strongest selling points is its extensive documentation. The auction includes the original build book, window stickers, factory literature, service records, and even a logbook documenting every fuel stop between 2005 and 2018.

Several original components are included, allowing the next owner to reverse certain modifications if desired. The listing also discloses paint chips, interior wear, and clearcoat damage on one wheel.

Those imperfections reflect a car that has actually been enjoyed over two decades. Its final selling price should offer an interesting indication of how collectors value a regularly driven Ford GT with a famous owner.
