Netflix has a movie for everyone in the family in November. We’re used to getting a lot of big Netflix movies in November and December, and this year is no different.

As soon as Halloween ended this year, Netflix is going right into Christmas mode! We have two brand-new Christmas movies with some majors stars coming this month.

It’s not all Christmas, though. As the month winds down, we have an animated comedy musical to watch just in time for thanksgiving. Then, to cap the month off, we have a movie that’s probably going to be the most-watched Netflix movie of the year so far.

Overall, Netflix doesn’t have a massive film lineup to cap off the year, but there’s a lot of quality. I think most fans will appreciate the film slate as the year comes to and end.

Let’s get to the list of the new Netflix movies on the way this month, sharing with one of those Christmas movies.

A Dog’s Perfect Christmas

Release date: Nov. 4, 2026

Netflix is pairing so perfect things for its first holiday movie of the year: dogs and Christmas. The new film from Cathryn Michon is based on the novel of the same name by W. Bruce Cameron. The film has a stacked cast for a Christmas movie with Dennis Quaid, Mary Steenburgen, Thomas Haden Church, Milo Venimiglia, Jennifer Tilly, Kathleen Rose Perkins, and Brooke Lena Johnson.

A Dog’s Perfect Christmas, which is one of a handful of new Netflix Christmas movies this year, tells the story of the Goss family in the middle of a tragedy over the holidays. A couple of their furry friends, led by Winstead, the film’s narrator, join forces to bring the family together during the rough time.

It doesn’t get much better than that in a Netflix Christmas movie. I can’t wait for everyone to watch this one. Luckily, we don’t have to wait long. A Dog’s Perfect Christmas arrives on Nov. 4 only on Netflix.

Guarding Stars

Release date: Nov. 18, 2026

Sticking with the Christmas theme, we have Guarding Stars up next! If a family Christmas movie told from the perspective of a dog isn’t quite your style, perhaps a romantic Christmas movie will be!

Guarding Stars has a star-studded cast led by Leighton Meester, Jared Padaleck, and Andie MacDowell. The film tells the story of a movie star, Jack Stapleton, who brings his security guard, Hannah, home for the holidays to protect him. Instead of being honest about their relationship, Jack pretends he’s dating Hannah, and that’s when the feelings start flying.

Guarding Stars is the perfect holiday movie to watch on Netflix, and it arrives one week before Thanksgiving.

Steps

Release date: Nov. 20, 2026

Speaking of perfect movies on Netflix just in time for Thanksgiving, we have the perfect movie to watch with the whole family, and that’s the new animated musical comedy, Steps. We love an animated comedy drop right before the holidays. With the convenience of Netflix, Steps is the one I think most families will be firing up after dinner.

Steps is also perfect for Cinderella fans! The film tells the story of Cinderella’s stepsister, Lillith, who makes a big mistake. To help her fix it, Cinderella abandons her post to come to her sisters’ aid. Despite their differences, the pair must work together to save the kingdom.

The film has an incredible voice cast, including Ali Wong, Amanda Seyfried, Nikki Glaser, Stephanie Hsu, Peter Dinklage, Daniel Radcliffe, Young Mazino, Bette Midler, and more.

Steps arrives the weekend before Thanksgiving on Netflix! It probably would be the biggest movie of the month if not for our last choice.

The Mosquito Bowl

Release date: Nov. 25, 2026

The Mosquito Bowl arrives on Netflix the day before Thanksgiving, and it’s going to be a big one, possibly one of Netflix’s biggest movies of the year and a potential awards season contender.

Directed by Peter Berg, The Mosquito Bowl is based on The Mosquito Bowl: A Game of Life and Death in World War II by Buzz Bissinger. The Netflix film tells the true story of a group of college football players who enlist in the US Army during World War II. Their love of football and competitive spirit follows them to the South Pacific, where a legendary football game happens.

The Mosquito Bowl also has an outstanding cast, including Nicholas Galitzine, Bill Skarsgård, Ray Nicholson, and Tom Francis.

War movies are always popular on Netflix. This looks like quite a good one, although it doesn’t seem like one that’s going to have a feel-good ending.

Those are the four best new Netflix movies to come in November! We’ll share more news about all of them as we get closer to their release. Stay tuned!
