The Feast of the Middle East, festival of food, music, and tradition

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) – St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church celebrated their annual Feast of the Middle East in West El Paso.

The community was invited to take a tour of the church and see the Byzantine decorations and learn more about the rich traditions of the church and culture.

Those in attendance were entertained by a live Arabic band accompanied by dancing. Many enjoyed authentic Arabic coffee and handmade sweets like baklava and other breads.

“We are celebrating our 59th year of the festival we started that a long time ago, and now we are showing the people besides our tradition, the music, the excellent food, our faith,” said Rt. Rev.  Archimandrite Fadi Rabbat, Academic Dean of the Antiochian House of Studies.
