Stars, they’re just like us. No, really. Over the years, celebrities have become increasingly willing to let it all hang out. Think: TMI pooping confessions, relatable (albeit TMI) health confessions, questionable personal hygiene habit admissions, and even TMI health confessions that we should actually pay attention to. (Never forget Shailene Woodley revealing she likes to sunbathe one particular area on her body where the sun doesn’t shine.)
But that’s not all. Many celebrities have also been open and honest about their bathroom boundaries with their partners, or, in this particular case, the lack thereof. Yep, that’s right. For better or for worse, Jerry O’Connell and Rebecca Romijn, Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis, Meghan Trainor and Daryl Sabara, and even Cara Delevingne have zero bathroom boundaries and no qualms about it, either.
Alas, according to Sarah Melancon, Ph.D., a sociologist and clinical sexologist, the jury’s still out on whether or not the no-bathroom-boundaries attitude is a good thing in relationships. When it comes to couples’ bathroom dynamics, Melancon told SheKnows in 2021 that “keeping the door open for our beloved can feel intimate, like pulling back the curtains to see behind the stage.” Still, she was careful to note that in some cases it could be indicative of an unhealthy level of co-dependency in the relationship. “In a healthy relationship, we’re able to spend time apart to take care of ourselves. If going to the bathroom alone causes anxiety, that may be something to address with a therapist,” Melancon explained.

In 2015, during a guest appearance on Theo Von and Matthew Cole Weiss’ former podcast, “Allegedly,” actor and television personality Jerry O’Connell confessed that he and his wife, Rebecca Romijn, have “an open door for everything policy” as it relates to their bathroom behaviors (via TMZ). According to O’Connell, the married couple not only pass gas in front of each other, but they also have no qualms about relieving themselves. “It’s gonna happen,” O’Connell declared. Interestingly enough, that same open door policy extends to their children as well. “I run over to my kids when I have to fart,” O’Connell revealed.
Ironically, while all bets are off when it comes to their bathroom behaviors, it appears O’Connell and Romijn are not as enthusiastic about entangling their finances. “We keep our money completely separate,” Romijn told host Andy Cohen during an appearance on SiriusXM’s “Andy Cohen Live” in 2025. “That’s like one of the first conversations you have when you decide to enter into a legal agreement together,” she added. Duly noted.
Mila Kunis blames her children with Ashton Kutcher for their lack of bathroom boundaries

Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher have a no-closed-doors policy at their home, with each other and their two children, daughter Wyatt and son Dimitri. “That includes the bathroom,” Kunis told E! News in 2022. “It’s just one of those where, for better or for worse, as a family and the kids have all kind of embodied bodily function as a very standard norm.” The Kutcher/Kunis household’s policy evolved rather organically, perhaps even out of necessity, while they were deep in the throes of parenting their two small children. According to Kunis, it wasn’t until after she became a mother that she realized going to the bathroom in private was simply a thing of the past. “I was like, ‘Oh, forget it. Just keep the door open,'” she recalled.
Alas, their no-bathroom-boundaries mantra isn’t the only thing the couple agrees on. During a 2024 appearance on the “Armchair Expert” podcast, both Kutcher and Kunis landed squarely on the list of celebrities who admit they don’t wash every body part in the shower. “I wash pits and t*** and holes and soles,” Kunis explained. Meanwhile, Kutcher also confessed that he focuses on washing his “armpits and my crotch daily, and nothing else ever.” Hey, at least they’re honest.
Meghan Trainor is all about that no bathroom boundaries life

Move over, loveseats. Make way for the love toilet? Meghan Trainor made headlines in 2021 when she revealed that she and her hubby, actor Daryl Sabara, designed their new home to include two side-by-side toilets so they could go to the bathroom at the same time. Think: his-and-hers toilets. “A lot of times in the middle of the night when we’re with the baby, we gotta pee at the same time. So I was like, ‘Can we please have two toilets next to each other?'” she explained to host Nicole Byer during an appearance on the “Why Won’t You Date Me?” podcast.
As one can imagine, many had strong thoughts about Trainor’s lack of bathroom boundaries, including her own brother, Ryan Trainor. “You guys are weirdos, bro,” he declared on the podcast episode. “They poop together! She’s pooping and Daryl’s like, ‘I’m going to go hang out with you now!'”
Eventually, however, Trainor set the record straight once and for all, explaining that they actually only used the dual toilets for pooping one time before laughing and vowing never to do it again. Twodaloo! “But he will hang out with me if I’m [poop]ing cuz WE SOULMATES. And i legit miss him when I’m away from him. And we pee together obvi,” she posted on X.

Speaking of dual toilets, it just so happens that model, actress, and musician Cara Delevingne is a big fan, too. But don’t just take our word for it. In an April 2018 Architectural Digest spread, Delevingne proudly showed off her London home, which boasted a guest bath with not one but two toilets right beside each other. “I like a chat on the loo,” Delevingne nonchalantly explained about the design decision — which she also said was a nod to the women’s restroom at the Crazy Horse in Paris that also features two side-by-side toilets.
While the article made no mention of a partner for Delevingne, merely months after it was published, she was caught canoodling with Ashley Benson at the London Heathrow Airport, per People. However, it wasn’t until the following year that the couple made it Instagram official. On June 14, Delevingne shared a clip of the couple kissing in the 2018 movie, “Her Smell,” along with the caption, “#PRIDE.” A source also told E! News that the couple was living together at Delevingne’s home in Los Angeles. Sadly, by 2020, the couple had called it quits. Still no word yet on whether the double thrones had anything to do with the breakup. The world may never know.
