Egyptian Fintech MNT-Halan Raises USD 82 M Through Securitised Debt Issuances
MNT-Halan, an Egyptian fintech company headquartered in Cairo, has raised more than EGP 4 B (USD 82 M) through three securitised debt issuances to support its lending operations.
The funding comprises two tranches of EGP 1.2 B and EGP 2.28 B issued through its microfinance subsidiary, Tasheel Finance, and another EGP 528.5 M through Halan Consumer Finance. All three tranches have 13-month maturities and received A- credit ratings from Middle East Credit Rating and Investor Services (MERIS).
The raise comes as MNT-Halan’s active loan portfolio approaches USD 1 B. As of June 30, 2026, it stood at EGP 46.7 B (USD 947 M), with cumulative credit disbursements reaching EGP 178 B.
The company had approximately 1.9 million active borrowers and operated 1,200 distribution points across 25 Egyptian governorates. The debt financing also comes as MNT Group prepares to list up to 20% of its shares on the Egyptian Exchange, though the timing and valuation remain undisclosed.
