The six-part drama, starring Dominic Cooper and Romola Garai, was filmed at a number of locations across the region, including Bolton, Darwen and Rossendale.
And with the series nearing its conclusion tonight, we take a look behind the scenes at some of the places transformed for the drama.

Bolton also has another connection to the series, with local actor Matthew McNulty playing Neil, the husband of Beth, played by Romola Garai.
The drama, written by Danny Brocklehurst, follows Tom and Beth, two married parents who embark on an affair, made even more complicated by the fact their teenage children are also in a relationship.

Historic Bolton transformed for filming
One of the most recognisable Bolton locations used for the series is Firwood Fold.
The historic hamlet was transformed into the Lake District, with its cobbled road and old cottages providing the backdrop for a number of scenes.
Filming took place there last year, with crews spending several weeks at the site.

One resident previously told The Bolton News that crews “took over the whole of Firwood Fold”, with a house close to the birthplace of spinning mule inventor Samuel Crompton used for filming.
The location has plenty of history of its own.
No 10 Firwood Fold, where Samuel Crompton was born in 1753, is Grade I listed, while No 15 is reputed to be the oldest continuously inhabited house in Bolton.
Cllr Debbie Newall previously described Firwood Fold as one of Bolton’s “jewels in the crown”, adding: “It’s a bit like stepping back in time when you go there.”
Rossendale cafe appears on screen
Filming also took place at Clough Head Cafe and Information Centre on Grane Road near Haslingden.
Scenes for Adultery were filmed around the steps at the side of the building.
And TV fans may recognise the location from somewhere else.
The cafe has also featured in the BBC drama This City is Ours, when it was transformed into the fictional Mimi’s restaurant.

Dominic Cooper spotted in Darwen
Darwen was another location chosen for the ITV drama, with filming taking place around Bank Street and Church Bank Street.
Romola Garai was spotted around the town during filming, while Dominic Cooper also paid a visit to local sweet shop Sweet Vintage.
The Mamma Mia star posed for pictures during his visit and bought sweets for himself and other members of the cast.
The shop later celebrated the town’s appearance in the drama, saying: “Our beautiful little town getting its moment in the spotlight.”
Filming moves to Hoddlesden
The Adultery production also headed to Hoddlesden, where crews spent a day filming on Long Hey Lane.
The road was closed at its junction with Jackson Heights from 6.30am until 5.30pm to allow scenes for the drama to be filmed, although access was maintained for residents, emergency services and school buses.
Cllr Phil Riley, leader of Blackburn with Darwen Council, said at the time that it was “always exciting” to see the borough appearing on television.
He said the area had plenty to offer production companies, ranging from rural locations and small villages to more urban areas with traditional terraced housing.
