While YouTuber Park Wi’s family is embroiled in allegations that they discriminated against their daughter-in-law Song Ji-eun, criticism is spreading even to actress Yoon So-hee, who is known as a foster daughter.
Recently, Yoon So-hee’s social networking services (SNS) said, “How do you become a foster daughter?” “What is your relationship with Park’s father?” and “You look like a sister-in-law.” There are a series of comments questioning the relationship with the Park Wi family, such as “a really bizarre relationship.”
사진 확대The controversy erupted in 2024 when the “first Chuseok at in-laws” video released on Park’s YouTube channel “Wiracle” recently re-spread online communities.
The video showed Park Wi and his wife Song Ji-eun visiting their parents’ house for Chuseok, and Yoon So-hee welcomed the two with Park Wi’s parents, drawing attention. Yoon So-hee is known to have become Park’s foster daughter through her appearance in the tvN drama “Memory,” directed by Park Chan-hong, Park Wi’s father.
Looking at Yoon So-hee, Park Wi said, “Dad, I think I came to my father’s daughter’s house because So-hee is like that,” and Song Ji-eun said, “Like someone who was there.”
Later, during the meal, Park Wi, her parents, and Yoon So-hee used the same set of tableware, but Song Ji-eun used a different bowl. In addition, Park mentioned Yoon So-hee before his wife in the prayer before the meal, and Park’s parents praised Yoon So-hee, a KAIST native, in front of Song Ji-eun.
Regarding this, some Internet users questioned whether Song Ji-eun was alienated while the Park Wi family took care of Yoon So-hee. On the other hand, some point out that the intention or actual relationship of the family should not be determined only by part of the video.
Meanwhile, Park Wi caused controversy in August when he released a CCTV video on his YouTube channel showing a fall accident caused by a social service worker’s mistake while getting off KTX.
At the time, some Internet users pointed out that an apology was made at the scene and it was inappropriate to release a video of the accident that occurred in the process of helping. In response, Park apologized, saying, “My delivery method was immature and short-thinking,” and then suspended his activities.
