Guelph Sports Hall of Fame accepting 2025 Class nominations

GUELPH SPORTS HALL OF FAME

The Guelph Sports Hall of Fame Board of Directors is calling for nominations for membership to the hall for the 2025 Class. Submission deadline is Thursday, October 31, 2024 at 5:00 pm ET.

New and previous nominations will be reviewed later this fall and submitted by the Selection Committee to the Board at their December monthly meeting.

Nominations are classified into three categories: Athlete, Builder (administrator/organizer/executive/coach/promoter/official/other), and Team (national/provincial championships).

Eligibility for election

• Nominees who by outstanding achievement have attained prominence in any field of sport or who have made a major contribution to the development and advancement of sports in Guelph are eligible for election to the Guelph Sports Hall of Fame.
• Athlete candidates must have concluded their careers as active players for a minimum of 5 years before their election, except when, by reason of outstanding prominence and skill upon the request by the Selection committee, made in advance, the Board of Governors may reduce such waiting periods.
• Officials and Team candidates can be active or inactive at selection time.

Nominations for the 2025 Class are due Thursday, October 31, 2024 at 5:00 pm ET and can be submitted to the Guelph Sports Hall of Fame via email to: [email protected]

Attend the Kiwanis Sports Celebrity Dinner

The induction ceremony will take place on Wednesday, May 14, 2024 during the annual Kiwanis Sports Celebrity Dinner at the Italian Canadian Club. Tickets will be available online prior to the event by visiting www.guelphsportshalloffame.com.
