Running back Floyd Jones headlined the six inductees for Gallatin’s Class of 2025 Athletic Hall of Fame.

The school announced its members prior to Friday’s home game against Springfield. Festivities will be held on January 10 to induct the class.

The Athletic Hall of Fame recognizes outstanding members of athletic programs from both Gallatin and Union high schools.

Jones ran for 2,586 yards across his Gallatin career – good for eighth all-time – and touts the fourth-most rushing yards in a single-season with 1,811. He was a starter on Gallatin’s 1978 state championship team and part of the program’s 26-game winning streak.

He went on to play at Austin Peay, where he still holds the record for 244 rushing yards for a single game.

Jones finished his college career with 1,960 yards. He is sixth in APSU history with a 1,093-yard sophomore season.

Other members of the Class of 2025 include:

• Donnie Maib: Gallatin athlete

• Letron Stewart: Union athlete

• Andrew Tunstill: Gallatin athlete

• Andrew Turner: Gallatin and Union contributor

• 1982 Gallatin softball state runner-up team

The inductees will be recognized on January 10, starting with a reception that begins at 5:30 p.m. in Gallatin High School’s main lobby. The induction ceremony will occur at approximately 7:15 p.m. in Jerry Vradenburg Gymnasium on Bobby Luna Court between the boys and girls basketball games.

“The public is invited to attend the events to recognize this exceptional team and group of individuals who represented Gallatin and Union with great pride,” assistant principal Johnnie Anderson wrote in a release.
