Meghan Markle’s future in Tinseltown isn’t looking bright, according to a royal expert.

“I think we’re watching the Sussexes’ Hollywood partnership unravel in real time,” royal commentator Kinsey Schofield said in an interview published on Friday, November 6.

Schofield continued, “Netflix has already withdrawn from As Ever, Meghan has lost one of her most influential supporters at the company, and now her camp appears willing to publicly criticize the streamer.”

As OK! previously reported, Netflix and Meghan’s lifestyle brand, As Ever, ended their partnership in March. A representative for the streamer said that Meghan would continue growing her brand “independently” as it was ready to “stand on its own.”

At the time, As Ever emphasized that the change was part of a “planned transition” to operate the brand separately from the streamer.

Branding expert Eric Schiffer highlighted Meghan’s upcoming appearance on MasterChef Junior Australia, claiming the daytime series gig only proved her “diminished standing” in the entertainment industry.

“This is an entry-level bridge in Britain that gives her something to talk about, aligns her with kids and parents, but also highlights how weakened her career has become versus her hope of being a younger version of Martha Stewart, which blew up into bits at Netflix,” Schiffer said in a statement.

“It is consistent with the types of projects she tried to align herself with her Netflix opportunity, which failed miserably,” Schiffer continued. “I don’t see much happening with this other than dwindling viewers and it ending in termination.”

Meghan and her husband, Prince Harry, first signed with Netflix in 2020 and extended the relationship in 2025 with a multi-year, first-look deal for film and television projects.

The March split from As Ever did not affect the couple’s seperate production agreement with the streamer.

Meghan’s relationship with Netflix has allegedly gotten tense in recent months. In August, the Deal or No Deal alum was reportedly been in talks for a role in the third season of The Gentlemen, the Guy Ritchie-created Netflix drama filmed in the U.K.

After news of her potential involvement was leaked, sources claimed that the Duchess of Sussex felt “used” by Netflix to promote the series.

Though she’s been deemed out of the running, the potential casting would have marked Meghan’s biggest scripted on-screen role since she left Suits ahead of her 2018 wedding.
