ECR: Winter Woes: ECR Cancels 24 Trains Amid Foggy Conditions | Patna News

Patna: In view of the foggy weather during winter, the railways has cancelled 24 long-distance mail and express trains while the frequency of an equal number of passenger trains has been reduced from December 2 onwards.
According to East Central Railway’s chief public relations officer (CPRO) Saraswati Chandra, the Muzaffarpur–Prayagraj Rambagh service is cancelled from December 2 to January 8, 2025, and the Birangna Laxmibai Jhansi–Kolkata Express will be cancelled from December 6 to January 12.Similarly, the Dibrugarh–Chandigarh Express will not run from December 2 to March 3.
The Gaya–Kamakhya Express will not operate from December 2 to February 25 and the Kamakhya–Anand Vihar Express will be cancelled from December 5 to February 28. The Hatia–Anand Vihar Express will not run from December 2 to January 10. Furthermore, the Santragachi–Anand Vihar Express will be cancelled from December 2 to January 7.
Other cancellations include the Tata–Amritsar Express, which will not run from December 2 to February 28, and the Malda Town–New Delhi Express, cancelled from December 3 to February 27. The Barauni–Ambala Harihar Express will also be cancelled from December 3 to February 27. The Amritsar–Purnia Court Janseva Express will not run from December 1 to March 2 and the Howrah–Dehradun Upasna Express will be cancelled from December 3 to March 1.
Among the important mail and express trains with reduced frequencies are the Gwalior–Barauni Express (Monday-Thursday from Gwalior and Tuesday-Saturday from Barauni), the Ajmer–Sealdah Express (Tuesday-Thursday-Saturday from Ajmer and Wednesday-Friday-Sunday from Sealdah), the Kamakhya–Anand Vihar North East Express (Sunday-Wednesday from Kamakhya and Tuesday-Friday from Anand Vihar) and the Patliputra–Lucknow Express (Monday-Wednesday from both Patliputra and Lucknow).
Frequencies of the Dibrugarh–Lalgarh Express, Alipurduar–Delhi Express, New Jalpaiguri–New Delhi Express, Patliputra–Gorakhpur Express, Tanakpur–Shaktinagar Express, Bhagalpur–Anand Vihar Garib Rath and Howrah–Kathgodam Express have also been reduced, the CPRO added. The Howrah–Mathura Chambal Express will be short-terminated at Agra Cantt from December 6 to January 6.
